Photography

I have found my calling in life. Photography. Daddy let me play with the camera this afternoon and I took some great pictures if I do say so myself! Here are some:

Warm Beach

Last Saturday night Mommy and Daddy drove me a long way away to a place called Warm Beach. Although I don't know why it is called Warm Beach....it was COLD!! (below freezing)

Mommy and Daddy bundled me up and they got all bundled up too and we got out of the car. We all walked and bought tickets, then we got to walk around this place. There were so so so so many Christmas lights (over a million). They had really pretty scenes, like a sun set, and a beehive with lots of Christmas lights for the bees! We stopped and watched the polar express move by, I of course waved to everyone on the train. I got to eat a hot dog there with dip-dip sauce (ketchup). Then we walked around some more. I saw a snow man, and I got so excited I accidentally called out Mommy's name, she didn't really seem happy about that. Then when we were at the petting zoo I got really excited about the llama and called out Daddy's name this time. (Mommy really laughed at that one) After that we drove home and it was bed time. All in all it was a pretty good night!

Compromise

Another small victory in my life. Mommy decided that instead of fighting me and telling me 'no' all the time, she will allow me to touch the pretty balls on the Christmas tree with one finger. This is something that I can work with! I still get in trouble if I touch with my whole hand, or try to grab it off the tree. But I can walk around the tree as much as I like and touch each and every pretty ball that I can reach...as long as it is with one finger!

Victory

I am feeling so much better these last few days! So I have had some time to really be paying attention to the things that have been going on around here. I overheard my Mommy say that since all my pacifiers were cracked in my crib, and I didn't seem to mind it, she was going to just leave them alone and not replace them. Ever. I had to do something about this. So I started a finger sucking habit. I haven't decided what finger to suck on yet, sometimes it is my thumb, other times it is one, two, or even three fingers in there. All I know is that it really bugs Mommy!

So my plan worked because yesterday I overheard her talking to someone and they decided that I was learning to suck my fingers to put myself to sleep instead of my broken pacifiers. And Mommy said she would rather have me want a pacifier than my finger. So I have new pacifiers in my crib now.

Victory again.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving! I spent the day down at my Grandma and Grandpa King's house. I got up very early, because I am a little off my schedule because of being sick. So we were able to get an early start on our day. I did have a lot of fun during the day. I got to see some cousins that I hadn't seen in a while and that was a lot of fun to play and dance with them.

The day after Thanksgiving Mommy, Daddy and I had a lot of fun. I woke up and ate breakfast first of course. Then Daddy got out a lot of boxes from the garage and we set up our Christmas decorations. There is a big tree in the living room that is full of "no-no's". I don't know why they would hang those things all over the tree if people aren't allowed to touch them! So I keep sneaking back into the living room to try to grab them, but Mommy and Daddy always seem to find me.

I also went to the doctor again for my check-up. This time they did poke me with something, but I was such a big girl I didn't even cry! They told Mommy and Daddy that I was super tall! (In the 92nd percentile!) The doctor said that I was growing really well and my croup was getting better. Mommy said she was very proud of me for being such a big girl. That makes me happy!

Wish me luck on getting ahold of this Christmas tree!

Doctor

So today I had to go to the doctor's office. I really hate that place. Although to give them some credit they didn't poke me with anything sharp this time! They did try to look in my ears and use a shiny thing to listen to me breath. I didn't fall for it though! I did my best to not let them touch me! The other good thing about going to the doctor office this time was I got to step on the big girl scale instead of sitting on the one on the table. I weighed 25 lbs!

The doctor told my Daddy that I have something called croup. I don't know what it is, I only know that I really don't feel very good at all. I didn't fall asleep until really late last night (1 am) and my Mommy seems more tired than usual today too..maybe she is sick too! My parents messed with my crib last night so it is tilted. It looks really weird, but it seems to help me sleep. I heard Mommy say she would try anything!

I'm trying my hardest to get better before Thanksgiving so that I can go down and see people!

Library day

Today after my nap Mommy took me to the library to choose some books for the week. She let me choose some and she picked out some to read to me. Mommy said I wasn't allowed to read those ones myself because she is worried I might tear the pages... She is probably right!

I love going to the library with Mommy. We talk in our whisper voice, which I am still working on, and they have kid sized chairs just for me! Mommy and I sit together and she reads me some books. And when we get to the library I can walk over to the book return and use the stool they have to return my books! I love going to the library!

Crayons!

Last night I helped mommy sort different colors of little broken crayon pieces from her classroom into muffin tins lined with tin foil. Then it was bedtime and I went up stairs and brushed my teeth and took a bath and Mommy read me my new book called Mudpie for Mommy.

When I woke up this morning Mommy showed me what the crayons looked like. They all had melted together in the oven into big crayons! I had fun this morning coloring with them. Depending on which way I held the crayon a different color came on the paper. Mommy said she thinks this will be a very good project in years to come.

Feeding baby

I am slightly concerned that my parents never give any attention to my baby. This baby never gets fed, and at the end of the day she gets thrown in the big box with a lot of my other toys. So I have taken it upon myself to begin feeding my baby all on my own. Tonight she sat in the high chair next to me and I shared my dinner with her. It is comforting to know that she has finally eaten something!

Mondays

I spent today with my Grandma and my Daddy. We went to the pet store and I got to look at the puppies while Daddy lifted the huge bag of dog food we needed for Nala.

After my nap Mommy got home and Daddy went to work. Mommy, Grandma, and me went to the outside mall. I don't know why we had to go there, it is raining really hard! Mommy bought me dinner and I ate some of Grandma's too!

This is my first ever time blogging! I am hoping to be able to keep people up to date on all my new adventures! I have to go to bed because I am working on one of my last teeth and I'm not sleeping well.
